HomeBase 3 is what turns a handful of eufy cameras into an actual security system. Up to 16 cameras and 34 sensors connect to a single hub, over a wireless link reaching as far as 200 metres in good conditions, with a gigabit ethernet port to give the whole thing a wired backbone. It ships with 16 GB of built-in storage — roughly two months of footage from one camera — and takes a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD up to 16 TB, at which point storage stops being something you think about. The intelligence runs on the hub itself. BionicMind is eufy's self-learning local AI: it recognises up to 50 faces and tells family from strangers, detects humans, vehicles, packages and pets, and gets more accurate the longer it runs. Because a quad-core processor does this work on your shelf rather than in someone else's data centre, recognition is fast and your footage never leaves the building. Cross-camera tracking is the standout: spot a person on one camera and the system follows them onto the next, combining the angles into a single event you review in one go. A built-in 100 dB siren makes the hub a deterrent in its own right. The economics are the real argument, and they matter more here than in the US. There is no monthly fee and no subscription — recording, playback, AI detection and face recognition all work permanently, on storage you bought once and own. For anyone who would rather not wire a security budget to a dollar subscription in perpetuity, or who cannot rely on always-on broadband to keep their cameras useful, that is the entire point of the product.
