Drones are regulated in Ghana by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). At 1,063g this aircraft falls in GCAA's Small RPAS class and is fully regulated. Before you can legally fly, you must: register the aircraft with GCAA in person at their office at Kotoka International Airport in Accra; hold an RPAS Safety Course certificate; and renew that registration every year. Flying an unregistered drone carries civil penalties. If you intend to fly commercially — paid photography, survey or film work — additional GCAA authorisation applies beyond basic registration. Talk to GCAA before you take on paid work. Operating limits are 400ft maximum altitude, within visual line of sight, at least 30m from people and buildings not under your control, and at least 10km from airports. DJI's software no longer blocks restricted airspace — it only warns — so staying legal is entirely down to you. We are completing our own GCAA vendor authorisation before we sell any drone.
